I've been chemically colouring my hair for years and has since decided to try and grow out my natural hair and basically just give my hair a little bit of a break. It's obvious that my hair is not in the best condition due to all the bleaching and colouring etc. The thought of doing the "BIG CHOP" has crossed my mind quite a few times. But the thought of having no hair completely overwhelms me. My ends is currently is really bad condition and the overall look and feel and in dire need of a pick me up! So with that said, I was offered to try out a brand new in-salon treatment from INOAR professional called GHAIR BOTOX TREATMENT. It's a 30 minute treatment which promotes hair growth, strengthens hair, reduce frizz, reduce knots, add shine and defines curls.

I went to Carla Hair Design Salon in Camps Bay to get the treatment done and it was really such a easy, hassle free process. While getting my hair done Carla explained the product and the benefits of it in great detail. My hair was washed with the INOAR Help Detox Shampoo and then towel dried. The Ghair B-Tox mask was then applied and comb through. The product was not applied to my scalp as well as not massaged in. We waited for the 30 minutes rinsed and then styled. Easy Peasy!
The product is developed with Wheat Germ oil which is Fatty Acids, Argan oil, Shea Butter, Hydrolyzed. Keratin and Grape Extract. It's rich in Vitamin A, C and E which protects your hair from harmful agents & rich in antioxidants that fights Free Radicals!

  • B-Tox treatment may last 4+ weeks
  • Use Inoar’s salt-free shampoos to maintain the treatment
  • B-Tox will not influence tint/colour in the hair
  • B-Tox my be done immediately AFTER colour/hi-lights/toner
  • (Remember the cuticles are already open…so no need for a clarifying shampoo.
  • Use a normal Shampoo (no conditioner) after colour/hi-lights and apply the B-Tox )
  • No fumes / odour / eye-burning
  • Large market – may be done on all clients
  • Works extremely well on chemically damaged hair
  • May be done on virgin hair
  • Not recommended for pregnant women
I am so happy with the results. My hair so shiny and soft and most of all its manageable with less knots. This is definitely a treatment you should try if you looking for the instant pick me up for your hair. If you are keen to try it out I will definitely recommend going to Carla Hair Design Salon. The location and salon is beautiful and she simply works wonders with her hands details below:

Top 5 natural hair products

I always get asked what I'm currently using on my curly fro and with the Clicks Curls expo just around the corner I thought it would be just the right time to share with you my 5 favourite products for my curly tresses. With curly hair you need to find the right product suited for you hair type. Some of the hyped up natural curl products on the market did not work for me at all, but did wonders for others. It's important to find just the right balance for you.
One of the major issues with having curly hair is.... knots, knots & more knots. I usually find that on the 2nd to 3rd day my curls feel and looks the best. Since we don't comb the hair on a daily as you would with straight hair knotting are thus prone to happen. It has always been one of the things that has made me shy away from wearing my hair naturally. The combing out process has many a time come with many screams and a odd tear here and there. But since I've discovered the Aunt Jackie's instant detangling  products, wearing my curly hair has become a shear pleasure. This product is enriched with Shea butter & Olive oil and is any curly haired girls dream product.
The following product which I discovered at a Design Essentials launch I attended in the beginning of the year has been one of my go to products ever since I discovered it. This product refreshes curls like nobodies business. After maybe a second or third day your girls will start to look a bit dry and may go rather ratty. This product will instantly refresh it & bring it back to life. This product comes in travel size, which allows me to pop it into my handbag with ease.
The TwistaSista curl activator creme has given me the well defined curl I have desperately been after. After a good shampoo & conditioner rinse I would then section my hair into 4 parts and liberally spread this product through my hair while gently combing it. I would then leave my hair to air dry and separate curls with a fro comb. This product is infused with coconut, avocado, almond oil & it smells absolutely divine.
The my natural hair range has to be my all time favourite products to use as its probably one of the few that is actually produced and made locally. After attending the My Natural hair launch last week which they showcased there new styling products I couldn't be happier at the range and the variety of product that is now available on the market. The My Natural Hair hydrating mask is such a great product for giving your curls that much needed TLC. I would lather on loads of this heaven sent cream and walk around the house for hours with it. After rinsing off I would apply the strengthening oil which gives me the required shine I need to my ends.
If you are keen on embracing your Natural Hair journey you just have to attend the upcoming Clicks Curls Cape Town event taking place at Spier Wine Estate on Saturday 16 September 2017 – an expo dedicated entirely to waves, curls and coils.
Hosted by the fabulous Amanda du-Pont and dynamic Siv Ngesi, #ClicksCurls Cape Town will feature the best of local and international natural hair brands. So about 2 weeks ago, I got an awesome opportunity to test drive the Ford Everest for a week. It was definitely something I was keen to do. Think about it a stylish looking SUV with all the bells and whistles accompanied by a full tank of fuel and the open road. YES LIFE GOALS RIGHT??!!
Hubby and I planned to take a road trip, we weren't quite sure where to but literally before I knew it 7 of my family members was all keen for a drive along to which was later established to be the West Coast.

Fuel Consumption
So the obvious question that I am sure everyone's wondering about when seeing such a huge SUV. How heavy is this piece of machine on juice relative to the performance. The Ford Everest’s advanced 3.2L TDCi Turbo Diesel engine delivers 147kW of power and 470Nm of peak torque, all without compromising fuel efficiency. This was literally one of the best things about this SUV. The usual perception is that with a big vehicle fuel consumption would be high. But I was pleasantly surprised, after driving to and from work the first 2 days of the week there was hardly any difference to fuel consumed and then on the 3rd day we started out our journey. We decided to take a quick drive from CPT up to Vredenburg and then same day back again. The days that followed we also took a leisure drive through the Cape Wine Route passing Stellenbosch, Franschhoek & Wellington to name a few. Upon returning the vehicle to Ford on the last day their was still a bit of fuel left to spare.
Space & Capability
This was one of the factors that made me fall in-love with this piece of machine. It could comfortably fit in all 7 of my family members with ease which meant that we could enjoy a long road trip with all of us being in one car, instead of our usual 2 car trek to and from our destination. The great thing was while sitting inside the SUV it really didn't feel that big yet we all sat comfortably with enough leg room for all. With all the passengers on board & the great leg room I had no idea that it was even possible to still have any boot space left, but yes it did. More than enough.
I was literally ticking off all, the Pro's to the Everest in my head. Good fuel consumption-tick, enough space- tick, slick & gorgeous looking SUV- tick, what more was there that could possibly impress me?  Yes, there was more...
I am a complete techie. If I can use technology to make my life easier... why not? SYNC®3 is a fully integrated, voice activation system that lets you use your favourite devices while your hands stay on the wheel and your eyes stay on the road. Sync your phone to call your friends and play your favourite music. This made the whole journey so much more enjoyable. Equipped with a customisable 8” Colour LCD capacities Touch Screen; SYNC®3 is quicker and more responsive than ever before.
Active Park Assist
This may be one large SUV, but parallel parking couldn’t be easier. I pride myself by getting my licence at the age of 18 and when my world gets kind of chaotic I take comfort in the fact that parking is definitely one of those things that I feel I can do seamless & effortlessly. However in the Ford Everest at the press of a button, Active Park Assist not only helps you find the right size parking spot, it steers itself in. Simply take your hands off the wheel and watch as it parks perfectly. All you have to do is control the gears, accelerator and brake.

You can get your hands on The Ford Everest range starting from R5899* a month and retail price of R458,900 R699,900

Exploring Prague!

So I thought I’d write an honest post based on my experience visiting Prague, Czech Republic. This post will contain the good and the maybe not so good. Disclaimer: I know that every country has it's own issues and that no country is perfect. However this is my experience based on my time spent in the country....
Let’s start off with the good. Prague is an absolutely magical city filled with beautiful architecture, a rich history and great touristic visiting spots. The ancient capital city is a captivating place to travel to and it has proven itself to be a popular tourism destination. For those visiting Czech Republic for the first time there are many popular tourism attractions on offer to explore.
The first place that was on my list to explore was definitely the Charles Bridge. It is an historic bridge that crosses the Vltava River in Prague. Its construction started in 1357 and finished in the beginning of the 15th century. The Charles Bridge was the most important connection between the Prague Castle and the city’s Old Town and various surrounding areas. The bridge can only be used by pedestrians and its total length is 515.8 metres.
As soon as I arrived in Prague along with a few of the others that had joined us on the trip we took to the streets of the Old town, Prague, this is thus an medieval settlement of Prague and notable places in the old town includes Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock. The Astronomical clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still operating. I however I did not manage to get to see the clockwork strike on the hourly, but it is known to show figures of the apostles and other moving sculptures. It really is spectacular to actually see this gigantic astronomical clock on full display.
We also managed to get around to seeing the Prague Castle which dates back to the 9th century. According to the Guinness book of records Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world occupying an area of almost 70 000 square metre. The castle is amongst the most visited tourist attractions and when visually seeing the architecture and attention to detail it is clear why this is such a popular destination.
Another must see has to be the Lennon wall or the John Lennon wall as it is known. Since 1980 it has been filled with John Lennon inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from the Beatles songs. In the 1988, the wall was a source of irritation for the communist regime of Gustav Husak. Young Czechs would write grievances on the wall and in a report of the time this led to a clash between hundreds of students and security police on the nearby Charles Bridge. The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost under layers of new paint. We were told by a tour guide that the amazing thing about this wall is that it is constantly changing, if you had to visit Prague a week later, the wall will look completely different. Also according to law this is now the only wall in Prague where it is legal to draw here and make use of graffiti.
So now I’ve given you a clear view on the great things to see in Prague, let’s talk about some of the perhaps not so great things that you could experience when visiting the magical city! If you are looking for a friendly welcome and good old hospitality it seemed to be quite a stretch. Asking for directions from the locals or even the cab drivers was an absolute mission, as they come across completely irritated and abrupt. We even experienced this in the local café whereby the waitresses was just plain rude. Asking basic questions was quite an annoyance for them and their faces clearly showed their frustrations. In the hotel we even had the experience when the guy assisting us with the bags got so irritated with us, talking amongst ourselves before instructing him about where we would like our bags to go. His body language openly showed how upset he was, which we found weird, as abruptness is never okay when it concerns customer service. However it seems this city definitely plays with a different set of rules. We were so relieved when we actually found a 1 in a million, that was actually polite and keen to assist.
So before clicking "publish" on this post, I thought to myself perhaps the Czech people was only rude to us and it could perhaps be a isolated situation. I then went to the trusted MR Google & typed in "Why is Czech people so rude? And crazy enough there were actually many articles written about it. Surprise Surprise!
On our final day in Prague we were at a tram station and had no idea how to buy a ticket, we asked for assistance from a person working there and they were so abrupt and just answered insert the money and walked away. We then needed to use the bathroom and inserted 5 koruna to open door, but the door ended up being jammed. We again asked for assistance and the guy merely shrugged his shoulders and refused to assist and walked away.
Getting ripped off by taxi drivers seems to be another trend within Prague, Czech Republic. We experienced this when taking a taxi to the Charles Bridge, and then when we took a taxi back we ended up paying almost double. The taxi driver swears he took the quickest route even though we knew that we were driving on the outskirts and in circles which meant an more Koruna.
I must say this horrid and unfriendly service received from the Czech people only dampen the city by about 20% and the remaining 80% is firmly held at the breath taking architecture and beautiful landscapes. Has anyone else experienced this when traveling to Czech Republic?
